[2011] Gene looks at the medium of cinema, and the universal recognisability of technicolour movies from 1950’s Hollywood. If you strip an iconic scene of everything that makes it iconic, how is the meaning and our interpretation of the sequence altered? Gene was isolated from his background, frame by frame, desaturated, and projected into an empty hallway, in one day.
